The Proper Pumpkin brings cozy, curated fall porch displays to homes and businesses across the greater Charlotte area. Founded by Melanie Fitzgerald in Belmont, NC, in Fall 2025, The Proper Pumpkin grew from Melanie’s lifelong love of holiday decorating and family traditions. After years of the idea on the back burner, and a nudge from friends and family, Melanie turned her event- and project-management skills into a seasonal service that makes autumn decorating effortless and beautiful.

We partner with local farms to source pumpkins, mums, and seasonal accents, and return them to farms for responsible disposal, because we believe in supporting our community and protecting the environment. Our services include delivery and installation so you can enjoy a hassle-free, professional display.
